Hoofkryina is a loosely connected developing nation comprised of various bands of formerly nomadic, wild pony herds. External pressures and the widespread adoption of agriculture lead to the permanent settling of the vast steppe grasslands and rolling hills these ponies inhabit. Industrial towns and agrarian settlements dot the land and create a dispersed network of trade, forming the backbone of the nation's apple-backed economy. Some herds continue to roam between villages, settlements, and towns while the nation develops around them, but nomadic ponies are increasingly uncommon as the country experiences rapid cultural, technological and economic progress. They represent a quickly dwindling minority of Hoofkryina's cultural demographic picture.
